    Description: Scan To Cloud Storage offers a consistent user interface for scanning documents, ensuring a unified experience regardless of the printer manufacturer. Moreover, from an administrative perspective, this feature enhances visibility into scanning activities, providing detailed insights into file scanning, including information on the users performing scans and the specific type of files being scanned. Current printer manufacturers supported are Fujifilm, HP, Konica Minolta, Lexmark, Ricoh, Sharp, Toshiba, and Xerox. CPA 2.0 is the only CPA that is supported. CPA 1.0 is not supported for this feature.

     

  • New Feature:API Print Service

    Bundle: Output Management

    Benefiting Persona: IT Admins

    Description: The PrinterLogic API Print Service can give control back to print administrators using Epic or other LPD applications, allowing them to fully control their print environment. Doing so eliminates the need to install print queues on your source application altogether and allows moving to a driver-less print model, reducing the work required to maintain the print environment.

     

    There are two places you’ll need to configure settings for the API Print Service. In the PrinterLogic Admin Console and inside your source applications administrative settings.

  • An issue when using Direct Email Guest Printing, causing the job to be sent to the printer but not printed and then go back to the release portal and continue to be held, is caused by a specific setting in the Canon Generic Plus PCL6 driver. The particular setting is under the Device Settings section in the Printer's Properties. Under Other Settings, the "Spooling at Host" setting should be set to Disabled. - PI-52278
  • An issue with global SNMP v3 settings, causing the CPA to fail to install, has been resolved. - PI-50596
  • An issue when using the SNMP service, causing large amounts of CPU/RAM to be used has been resolved but still being monitored. - PI-49013.

  • Feature: Scan To Email
    Description: Scan To Email is a new feature that offers a consistent user interface for scanning documents and having them sent to an email address. Scan To Email is the first of PrinterLogic's Scan To options to be released. Scan To Email is available as core functionality within PrinterLogic.   • Problem Solved: Ability to scan a document with an option to have the scan emailed to a specific recipient. Also provides tracking of scan activity in the Print Job Records report.
  • Enhancement: New Data Type added to the Data Manager of Printer QR Code URLs .
  • Bundle: Core availability
  • Benefiting Persona: IT admin, and end-users using the PrinterLogic mobile app.
  • Description: A new Data Type has been added to the Data Manager. This type, titled Printer QR Code URLs, is an export only option that will download all generic QR code URLs for printers found within your Tree View.
    The purpose of these QR codes is to be used with the mobile PrinterLogic App as a quick way to release held print jobs by scanning the code at the printer.
    These downloaded URLs can be used with a QR code generator of your choice to customize the code to include things like an image. For more information on PrinterLogic QR codes visit our QR Code Options topic.

    Description: Two options are now available to assist with easily viewing the Tree View. First, a slider bar is now at the bottom of the tree view. Updates

New Support:

PrinterLogic now offers support for Red Hat 8. You can find the new Red Hat 8 deployable client package in Tools then Settings then Client. The Client installation instructions are in the Install the Client on Red Hat topic. Red Hat 7 and 8 will share the same client version number.

New Setting:

  • Tools > Portal Settings
    • Enable "Automatic Self-service Portal and Release Portal" Login

      By selecting this option, the Self-service Portal and Release Portal will automatically log in the user based on who the Client recognizes as logged into the machine. Conversely, if the option is deselected, users will be required to log in each time they want to access one of the portals. It is important to note that enabling this feature will prompt you to acknowledge a modal warning before proceeding. For existing customers, current behavior will be the same unless they disable this setting. For new customers, this setting will be disabled by default, with the option to enable it if desired. Additional information can be found in the Portal Settings topic.

      Enabling this feature grants an authenticated user with valid server credentials the ability to impersonate another user. This impersonation allows the user to view print jobs that are currently held, as well as prematurely release or redirect them to accessible printers within your organization. It is important to consider the risk of enabling this feature, as it introduces the possibility of unauthorized access and potential misuse of print jobs by the impersonator.

    Description: On the Printing Settings Tab located at Tools then Settings then Printing, in the Print Jobs section, there is a setting to Include print job titles in reports. If this is enabled, print job titles are stored in the database for reporting purposes. If the option is not selected, then titles are not displayed in reports. The choice is now there to Purge all historical records of print job titles from the database if used in the past, and for security reasons, you no longer want them saved in the database.
