Install the Client on Red Hat
Client workstations must have hardware capable of running the operating system with a minimum of 100MB of free hard disk space for the client installation. Additional space for print drivers being installed will likely be required as well.
Use the following steps to install the PrinterLogic Client on a Red Hat 7 or a Red Hat 8 device.
Recommended: Install Cups 2.0 +
This step is required if you are using Pull Print/Secure Release Print.
- Browse to cups.org in a browser.
- Click Download CUPS to download cups 2.0 or higher.
- Open a terminal and type cd Downloads directory.
- Type tar -xzf cups2.x.tar.gz.
- Navigate to the newly extracted cups directory (cd cups2.x).
- Type ./configure.
- Type make.
- Type make install.
Once CUPS is installed, verify by typing cups-config --version.
