CPA 2.0
Here we provide an overview of the capabilities and supported devices for the latest version of the Vasion Control Panel Application (CPA).
Universal Requirements
Each MFP manufacturer has specific requirements for a successful CPA 2.0 installation. Here are some requirements that are universal for all manufacturers.
- Administrative login credentials. Installing the application is equivalent to changing the MFP settings, which requires login verification, so the username and password must have administrator access.
- The latest firmware version.
- Confirm the Printer Apps option on the Service Client is enabled and that the HTTPS certificate matches the hostname Service Client. See Service Client for instructions.
- Confirm that the PrinterLogicServicePrinterApp.exe service is running on your Service Client machine.
-
If your Service Client is using Windows OS, ensure Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (32-bit/64-bit) or newer is installed on the Service Client.
Both the x86 and x64 redistributable packages must be installed. These packages can be found in the Microsoft Download Center.
- SNMP Status Monitoring must be enabled. See SNMP Status Monitoring.
- All devices, including Service Client, printers, etc., must be allowed to reach the Domain Name System (DNS) server and resolve names.
- If using Pull Print, create a pull printer.
- If using Secure Release, configure a Direct Secure Release printer.
- LDAP Domain / Identity Provider (IdP) authentication. The CPA requires an identity provider service.
- Environments utilizing an IdP must have an email address assigned to the user within the IdP or the CPA login will fail.
Certificate Requirements
If you are using self-signed certificates, ensure the root Certificate Authority (CA) is installed on the printer(s). Some manufacturers have additional specific certificate requirements.
