OM Plus Printing

OM Plus is primarily a back-end print management solution from Plus Technologies. OM Plus takes print jobs and ensures they print where, when, and how the customer needs them. Because OM Plus does not support the management of actual drivers and print queues, the integration with Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) provides a comprehensive printing solution. The options below will only display in the Admin Console with proper licensing. Reach out to your Vasion representative for more details.

Requirements

  • An existing OM Plus environment to integrate with Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic).
  • Hostname of the OM Plus server.
  • Username and password to authenticate requests to the OM Plus server.

1. Add OM Plus Servers

The steps below guide you through adding OM Plus servers to the Admin Console. Printers use the servers added here as the default option.

  1. In the Admin Console, navigate to the OM Plus section on Tools then Settings then General.
  2. Select the Add button to the right of the server box.

  3. In the Add OM Plus Server modal, enter the hostname of the server.

  4. Select OK.
  5. Repeat as needed for additional servers.
  6. Enter the Username and Password used to authenticate requests to the OM Plus server(s).
  7. Select Save

To remove a server:

  1. Select the desired server from the box.
  2. Select the Remove button.
  3. Select Save

2. Create OM Plus Printers

The steps below guide you through adding an OM Plus printer object using the tree structure New button. Alternatively, right-clicking on the folder brings up the context menu with printer creation options.

  1. In the tree structure, select the desired folder.
  2. Select the New button at the top of the tree structure.

  3. Select the OM Plus Managed Printer option.

  4. In the Add OM Plus Managed Printer modal, enter the following:

    1. Printer Name.

      OM Plus printer names cannot contain spaces or special characters.

    2. IP Address or Hostname.
    3. Optional: Location and Comment fields.
    4. Upload a new driver or use the operating system dropdown to select an existing driver.
  5. Select Add..

3. Verify / Assign Servers

Servers added in the OM Plus section on Tools then Settings then General assign themselves automatically to OM Plus printer objects added to the Admin Console. The steps below show you where to verify the settings on the printer object.

  1. Select the OM Plus managed printer in the tree structure.
  2. Select the Port tab and scroll down to the OM Plussection.
  3. Verify the Route all print jobs to OM Plus Delivery Manager setting is checked.
  4. Verify the Queue Name reflects the printer object's name which you can adjust on the object's General tab.
  5. Select the Use default servers to route jobs to the default servers listed in the box.

Assign Printer-specific Servers

If an OM Plus printer requires a server not added to the default list, you can add it to the object from the Port tab.

  1. Select the Port tab of the OM Plus printer object.
  2. In the OM Plus section, verify the Route all print jobs to OM Plus Delivery Manager setting is checked.
  3. Select Use printer specific servers.
  4. Select the Add button to the right.

  5. In the Add OM Plus Server modal, enter the hostname of the server.

  6. Select OK.
  7. Select Save

  1. Select the desired server from the box.
  2. Select the Remove button.
